Most businesses show off their shiny new vans or high-tech shop photos. At Shift and Fix, I want to introduce you to the real heart of the operation: Our 1994 Chevy S10.
She’s a long-bed V6 with 231,000 miles and let me tell you—she has stories that would make a Ferrari blush.
This truck isn't just a work vehicle; it’s a family member. My grandmother-in-law bought it nearly 30 years ago with less than 30k miles on it. For years, it was her daily drive between Canton and Gainesville, GA.
She put this truck through everything. One legend says she was in downtown Atlanta when the driver’s side door decided it just didn't want to close anymore. Did she call a tow truck? Nope. She held that door shut with her bare hand all the way back to Canton! The next day, my grandfather-in-law "fixed" it by welding the hinge instead of replacing it. To this day, the door has its own unique "personality" when you close it.
Then there was the time it lost reverse in an Atlanta parking garage. Being a woman of action, she didn't wait for help—she just drove it straight over the walkway, made a U-turn, and kept going. That gave the truck its famous "death wobble," but that didn't stop it!
By the time I met my wife in 2016, the truck was… well, "tired" is a nice way to put it. The once red paint had faded to pastel pink, the dash was cracked, the seat was destroyed, and the steering had enough play to make you feel like you were chauffeuring a school bus. But somehow, it always started.
In 2023, life hit me hard. I was in a bad accident that totaled my car, and at the same time, my family was drowning in medical bills from my newborn son’s NICU admission. We were broke, relying on the kindness of our church and family just to keep food on the table.
That’s when my grandfather-in-law handed me the keys. For a year, I drove that S10 back and forth from Canton to Cumming—over an hour each way. It was the only thing keeping me moving.
Being a mechanic, I couldn't leave her in that shape. One by one, I replaced everything:
I know I eventually need a "prettier" truck for the business. But this S10 taught me something important: If you take care of a machine, it will take care of you. Even when she was falling apart, this truck never left me stranded on the side of the road. She always waited until I got to the shop or got home before she needed a break.
That’s the same philosophy I bring to Shift and Fix. Whether your car is a 2025 luxury SUV or a 1994 workhorse like mine, I treat it with the respect it deserves. I’m still working hard to recover financially and provide for my family, and this truck is my partner in making that happen.
When you see the black bed-linered S10 pull into your driveway, just know you’re getting a mechanic who knows how to make things last.
Don't shift your life to fix your ride—let the S10 and I come to you.

My name is Arvin. I came to the U.S. in 2015 and built my career as a Master Technician and manager at some of the nation’s largest automotive service chains, earning three ASE certifications.
In Canton, Georgia, I noticed a troubling trend: customers leaving shops with unsafe cars — like worn-out brakes — simply because the prices for car repair services were too high. I agreed with them; the markups were often unfair. That’s when I realized I could do better by going mobile. As a mobile mechanic, I can keep costs down without the overhead of a big shop and offer neighbors affordable, honest service right at their driveway.
I’m licensed and insured, and I’m still working a full-time job because I’m married to a wonderful woman and we’re raising three amazing kids. My two daughters are my pride — my oldest already loves cars just like me— and my son needs health insurance from my job because of a condition he was born with. Supporting them is my biggest motivation, and Shift and Fix is how I’m building something lasting for my family and community.
My name itself reflects my mission. In Persian, Arvin means 'problem solver.' Cars bring plenty of problems, but I love figuring them out — even if I don’t know the answer right away, I’ll find it. That passion started when I was a kid helping my uncle at his shop back home, working for free just because I loved being around cars.
I’ll admit, I love cars and hate them at the same time. I’ve always told my wife that when my time comes, it’ll be behind the wheel of an MK4 Supra. I admire older cars for their simplicity and new cars for their technology — and that mix of respect is what drives me to keep learning and fixing.
Shift and Fix LLC is my commitment to you: expert care on your terms, with transparent pricing that improves the industry for everyone — while giving my family the future they deserve.
